MIDNIGHT FLIGHT

last night I fell asleep on the wings a large hawk

there I lay in tan feathers of cotton and cashmere

darkness glowed pure with the shining of each star

                        appearing like candlelight smiles

we flew with grace

circling the hills below

like a dawning dream, a rich sky

exploding the big clouds

     coloring the night wind

the great bird and I

          banking off the current

               and leaning into the breeze

rising in harmony with the updraft

               gliding free

sharing laughter,

yes the laughter we embraced is what I remember most

my breath, unleashed

burning with mystery no more

sounding like a rhapsody

     the secret revealed so easily

the scented night air,

     the wind swept beaches,

                       distant bays of silence

I became drowsy,

so I curled up in my feathers of cotton and cashmere,

          and soundly slept

CURVES

oh siren, you sing a sweet sonnet
it serenades my infection
that dragon tattoo pleads my inspection

I must embrace the arch of your slender back
taste each groove of your hide
     explore each sigh

barefoot, and drifting upon textured kisses
our embrace, and the boundaries became naked
like the color of your skin at dawn
               ripe like tree fruit
                    sweet, paved in honey

you, my siren, are a bundle of curves

ALIVE AGAIN

So graceful is the inspiring flight of the hawk
soaring through the sky on channels of air
exploiting a space filled with turbulence and stillness is elegant

The Medicine Woman chanted softly
I found solace in her song
her mystic ballad escorted my launch from the earth
     and I began to fly

I am the hawk,
     soaring throughout the heavens
powering off the waves of air
               gliding free

Oh, magical sky I embrace your infinite song
